After years of legal battles surrounding its release, the second posthumous LP from Joey Ramone finally has a release date, "Ya Know? " will hit stores May 15. The 17 song album contains material written as far back as the early 1990s and features overdubs from Richie Ramone, Joey's brother Mickey Leigh, "Little Steven" Van Zandt, Joan Jett, The Dictators and Cheap Trick. According to David Fricke, three songs confirmed for the album are "...the anthem 'Rock & Roll Is the Answer,' the hometown hymn 'New York City' and a striking country-flavored ballad, 'Waiting for That Railroad'" Joey's first solo album Don't Worry About Me came out in February 2002, ten months after he lost his battle with lymphoma in April 2001.
The classic RAMONES documentary End Of The Century is also now online. This is one of the finest rock documentaries ever made, doing justice to one of rock and roll’s great bands. Directors Jim Fields and Michael Gramaglia wring a tremendous amount of emotion in telling the story of a band that was as exhilaratingly wonderful as they were dysfunctional. With the help of Danny Fields, Joe Strummer, Legs McNeil, Arturo Vega, Rob Zombie and a shitload of friends, critics and admirers, this flick will remind you of why you fell in love with this band in the first place. Sometimes the simplest and purest of concepts reach epic dimensions.
