Triple J's metal program, The Racket, now has a new host. Holding off some stiff competition, 24-year old Brisbane local Lochlan Watt will take over the reins on Tuesday February 28. A metal aficionado, Lochlan has a strong media background and plenty of experience as a musician himself as vocalist/drummer/synth player for Western Decay, The Surrogate, Ironhide and current post-hardcore outfit Nuclear Summer.

His past work with publications like Death Before Dishonour magazine, Drum Media, Blunt and No Heroes Magazine has already seen him interview some of the biggest names in heavy music like Mastodon, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Parkway Drive, Lamb of God, Damaged, Gojira, Napalm Death and Despised Icon.
Next Tuesday (Feb 21) you can catch the last of a series of guest shows as Scott Kelly from Neurosis and John Baizley from Baroness co-host The Racket. Then tune in as Lochlan begins his reign over The Racket at 10pm on Tuesday 28 February.
