News out of the D.R.I. camp is that guitarist Spike Cassidy recently underwent a total colectomy, a procedure which removes the person's entire colon. Cassidy, who was diagnosed with colon cancer back in 2004, is in the hospital recovering from a surgery related infection. His recovery time is expected to affect the band's 2012 touring plans.

Only in September of last year drummer Rob Rampy had to sit out the band's touring due to exhastion and dehydration following a backstage collapse. He of course was replaced by Walter "Monsta" Ryan, who has spent time in Merauder, Subzero, Machine Head, Posessed and more.
