ABLE BAKER FOX have reunited and plan on releasing a new LP soon through Arctic Rodeo titled "Visions". Able Baker Fox is the merger of two 90s post-hardcore heavy hitters- Mike Reed, Ben Reed, and Jeff Gensterblum of Small Brown Bike joined up with Nathan Ellis of the Casket Lottery and the rest is history. Nearing their tenth year, the band is about to release their new album Visions this summer.
From the label...
A lot has happenend at Arctic Rodeo since we had the pleasure and honor to release “Voices”, the debut album by an outstanding US band called ABLE BAKER FOX. Still, we remember very well how psyched we were back then when listening to these 11 tracks played by this new project consisting of members of bands we highly appreciate for many years: SMALL BROWN BIKE, THE CASKET LOTTERY and COALESCE, and recorded by Ed Rose, known for his work with the mentioned bands as well as with THE GET UP KIDS, THE APPLESEED CAST, BOY’S LIFE, LIMBECK and many others. Things went really great, “Voices” got excellent reviews, ABLE BAKER FOX got lots of fans.
So now – 9 years and 60 Arctic Rodeo releases later – ABLE BAKER FOX are back together again and return with a new album. And we are super excited and proud to announce the guys continue being a part of our family! “Visions” will be out on Arctic Rodeo Recordings in Europe and No Sleep Records in the US in late summer. It has been recorded by the incredible J Robbins at The Magpie Cage Recording Studio in Baltimore, MD in four days in January 2017, which makes this record even more special to us since we are friends for several years. “Visions” will not disappoint fans of “Voices”. Others might get into them or will hopefully change their minds.
Nathan Ellis, had this to say about the new song "America signed the Declaration of Independence 241 years ago and a new independent nation was born. In the definition of the American Dream by James Truslow Adams in 1931, "life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability or achievement" regardless of social class or circumstances of birth. Anyway, here's a song called "Purple Mountains" from the forthcoming Able Baker Fox record, "Visions" out 8/25/17"
