Filmed across September 2013, this documentary film follows the journey of Osaka-based metallic hardcore band PALM, and their Australian partners A SECRET DEATH, on an epic journey across every state and territory of said great southern land. Perhaps one of the most ambitious Australian tours ever undertaken by a musical group, the trail of gigging leads them up and down the east coast, all the way over to the far west, tropical north, the cold south, and the red dead center of it all. From the city centers, to the muggy rainforests, to the dry wonder of the desert, and the bleak yet inspired character of our regional centers, this film captures beyond the musical extremes, and extends itself well into the emotion of it all. It stands as a much deeper experience than your typical ‘camera man in a tour van’ documentary.
Directed, shot, and edited by Wilson Bambrick, and produced by Lochlan Watt, PALM & A SECRET DEATH this 70 minute piece was funded with assistance from a successful Pozible campaign, as well as The Australia Council for The Arts.
