Brisbane band BRIEF HABITS have joined Hobbledehoy Record Co

It's really exciting to work with new bands. Sometimes so new, they haven't released any previous music or even played a show. That was the case for Brisbane's Brief Habits. When singer/guitarist Dan Rogan reached out to us in December and shared a record four mates had self-recorded in a practice space, something clicked.

Mixed by J Robbins, the debut album from Brief Habits will be available to pre-order soon.

We're all so excited by this album at Hobbledehoy. It's earnest, heartfelt and Dan's songwriting has me humming all day.

The debut full length from Brief Habits refuses to be pinned down, rather the record spans the sonic spectrum with an impressive collection of power pop song craft, steadfast hooks and piano interwoven textural soundscapes.

Self-recorded by the band in a small industrial practice space on the outskirts of Northern Brisbane, Dan Rogan’s distinctive vocal would attract attention from J Robbins (Jawbox, Burning Airlines, Government Issue), who then mixed what would become their S/T album. A bittersweet gem, this is a record of celebration and hard-truths, from four friends who just really want to make music together.
