THE SMITH STREET BAND have released a video for the track "Death To The Lads" from their fourth LP, to be released early 2017 on Pool House Records (Aus), SideOneDummy Records (Nth America), Specialist Subject Records (UK) and Uncle M (Euro).

"Hey friends, this is an emotional one and you'll have to excuse us if it gets lengthy. For almost six years (basically the entire time we've been a band) we've released our music through a wonderful record label called poison city records. As some of you may have seen today we are really excited to announce that we're going to be starting our very own record label, Pool House Records. It's something we've talked about doing since back before 'Sunshine & Technology' came out and is a very exciting opportunity to self-release not only our music, starting with our new album, but the amazing music our friends and others create! More on that soon!
Along with this announcement of course, comes the great sadness that we will no longer be releasing music with Poison City. Andy Hayden (who runs PCR) is a mentor and an idol of ours in every sense of the word – someone we truly look up to and respect. It's been an absolute honour and privilege to work so closely together with him over these years, and we feel very lucky to have shared this journey together. We've witnessed the PCR Weekender move from the good old days at The Arthouse, to where it is nowadays, selling out year after year at big venues like Max Watts and 170 Russell. And it's been so amazing to watch all our talented friends in other Poison City bands release so much incredible music and achieve previously unimaginable levels of success and recognition in Australia and around the world, and Andy and PCR are a giant part of that.
We've loved our time on the label and personally it's a of part of my life that I'll genuinely cherish forever, and I know the rest of the guys would say the same. We wouldn't be the band or the people we are today without all the help, time, wisdom and advice Andy and the label have provided us.
We will always be super close with the PCR gang and we're excited to continue working with them, albeit in a slightly different way in the future.
