In what can only be described as absolutely tragic news, Melbourne's A DEATH IN THE FAMILY have decided to call it quits and broken up. The band released a statement via their facebook page this afternoon to deliver the news. Sad day indeed!

"A DEATH IN THE FAMILY band is no longer. To cut to the chase, we've hit a cross-roads (or dead-end as it seems). Each of our lives and circumstances are vastly different than they were a few years ago and as a group we've simply decided now is a good time to move on, rather than pushing on. As a band we've done more than we ever imagined and made life long friends in many parts of the world.

This ship has sailed. ADITF 2004 - 2012. Thanks for the memories."

A Death In The Family's last shows were around Xmas time playing Resistmas in Sydney and the Poison City Xmas show in Melbourne. If you didn't get out to these shows you missed the chance to farewell one of Australia's greatest punk rock bands.

The band leave behind a time less discography of a demo, This Microscopic War LP, Manifesto Jukebox Split LP, Small Town Stories LP and the Origins EP.
