Sydney band OMERATA are streaming their abandoned debut LP "Catharsis" in full, that was first recorded over 10 years ago.
"Omeratá was a band that existed between 2000-2006 in Sydney, Australia (Formerly Means To An End). This is their debut album that was recorded in 2005 at the now long gone 313 Studios in Wollongong and then sat in a drawer for 10 years after the band split in July 2006. Members of this band went on to form and join other bands such as We Lost The Sea, Lo!, The Amenta, At Dark and The Riot & The Trauma.
In 2015 we decided to revive it, mix it and finish it with the help of our good friend Tim Carr at 301 in Sydney.
This band and record meant a lot to us at the time and we felt it deserved to be released not only for our own self-satisfaction but all of the old friends and fans that used to come to nearly every show and support us, and even to this day, in whatever we do musically. We felt we could do it far more justice now than we ever could have back then and serves as a memento of great times.
This one’s for all the old crews, old bands, old friends in all states for letting us crash on your floor and anyone who supported us along the way.
This one’s also for Chris Torpy… the only one who knew all the lyrics.
Omeratá is fucking dead.
