Perth band VANITY have announced they are breaking up and have released a final EP for free download.

"It is with great sadness and regret that we announce that we have decided to end Vanity.

Over the past 12 months commitments in our own personal lives as well as to our other bands Bounty Hunter, Losing Grip, Apollo Zen and Unravel have become an ever growing priority, and despite our best efforts to continue the band after everything we've done in the last 7 years we decided it best if we call it a day rather than simply continue to let something we put a lot of time, hard work, money and love into for so long to simply fade into an uncertain obscurity.

We have met and made so many of our good friends, been to so many amazing places and even played with some of our favorite bands (along with musical heroes that inspired us to want to play this kind of music in the first place) which we feel we achieved all through this band and we couldn’t be more happier and proud at what we've been extremely fortunate to experience as well as been given many opportunities to accomplish.

Thanks to anyone that has come to a show to watch us, let us crash at their place, put a show on for us or just supported us in anyway possible, we are eternally grateful and we will never forgot it for the rest of our lives. Also particular thanks to Greg Bower of Arrest Records Australia and Ben Docherty of Whitewinter Records for putting out our music onto physical formats, and of course Emma Lily, Tom Murphy, Ryan Finlay and Tyson Helliwell for making this band what it is today (which wouldn't of been possible without you playing in it at some point in its extensive history)
We will be announcing a few last shows for you very soon but in the mean time as a parting gift we leave you our final swan-song EP titled 'Thanks & Regrets' featuring 2 brand new tracks (the super aggressive and sonically heavy 'Usurp' and the intense/brooding 'Time Heals, Time Steals') that is now available for free download like all of our discography from our bandcamp.
