EPITAPH SIGNS THE WORLD IS A BEAUTIFUL PLACE & I AM NO LONGER AFRAID TO DIE
Despite their stupid long name, Epitaph is proud to announce the signing of The World is a Beautiful Place & I am No Longer Afraid to Die, a Connecticut-based atmospheric post-emo band founded in 2009. The band enters Silver Bullet Studios in Burlington, Connecticut today to begin recording a new album.
Derrick Shanholtzer-Dvorak, TWIABP vocalist and guitarist states:
"Epitaph’s Punk-O-Rama Vol. 3 inspired 13-year-old me to begin a life of poor decision making. We are a band that likes to follow through on all of our terrible ideas so it’s great to be on a label that enthusiastically supports us in this."
The World is a Beautiful Place will release a split 7" Rozwell Kid out June 23 via Broken World Media and a brand new 2-song 7" Death To New Years on July 28 via Topshelf Records. Details on their second full-length album released on Epitaph are to be announced.
The World is a Beautiful Place create their dense textured sound with multi-layered and heavily effected guitars as well as synthesizer, cello, and trumpet. TWIABP has released one full length album, Whenever, If Ever, in 2013 on Topshelf Records. It was lauded as "revolutionary" by Pitchfork. The band's lineup is ever-changing and currently consists of David Bello – vocals, Josh Cyr – bass, Derrick Shanholtzer-Dvorak – guitar & vocals, Steven Buttery – drums, Chris Teti – guitar & trumpet, Greg Horbal – guitar & vocals, Katie Shanholtzer-Dvorak - keyboards, vocals, and Tyler Bussey – guitar, vocals.
