RELEASE ‘SURRENDER’ VIDEO

Filmed by the waterways of Melbourne’s North West, ‘Surrender’ is the first official film clip from The Smith Street Band. Following the success of live clip ‘Young Drunk’ and tour montage ‘Don’t Fuck With Our Dreams’, ‘Surrender’ sees the band’s singer/songwriter Wil Wagner battling a barrage of flying objects.
With the brains trust of directors Andy Johnson (Throw Me In The River album photographer) Callum Preston (graphic artist and merch designer), and drummer Chris Cowburn, the clip was shot in one continuous take and wrapped up only moments before local authorities were called by concerned passersby.
“Surrender is a song about not wanting to force your vices or negative aspects of your personality onto someone else,” says Wagner. “It's about finding hope and meaning in little aspects of existence and day-to-day life, instead of just coasting through and being numb.” Not numb, but certainly bruised and battered.

Currently on tour throughout the UK, Europe and the US, The Smith Street Band return to home shores in November for a huge run of national tour dates. With many of the dates selling out the band have announced additional tour dates in Fremantle, an all ages gig in Sydney and a third Corner Hotel show in Melbourne, full run of dates below.
