Ex-Kiwi art rockers Gatherer and Newcastle post-hardcore troupe Safe Hands are teaming up for a co-headline long weekender that is set to have venues in Australia's bottom right corner rumbling. After short period's of inactivity, both bands are extremely eager to get back to chasing that white line through NSW & VIC.
Gatherer released their debut album 'So Be It' in 2012 and it was met with critical praise for it's outstanding originality. Their signature sound involving clever hooks woven amongst huge tones and big beats secured them slots on stages amongst some of Australia and New Zealand's finest. They returned to the studio with an album worth of material but emerged with just the one track. High Fives represented a massive growth within the band seeing their inborn technicality take a back seat to a much more soulful approach.
After releasing their debut album "Montenegro" in 2013 and following it up with a slew of national and international touring, Safe Hands teamed up with Australian metal legends A Secret Death to release a split 7" in early 2014, which has been massively well received. Safe Hands have since introduced their new guitarist, Josh Gibson (ex Coma Lies) and are in the process of putting together a new record. Time off writing has reignited Safe Hands' hunger for the live scene and they are raring to hit the stage again.
With stops in Newcastle, Sydney, Melbourne and Wollongong and enlisting the help of some of the country's finest acts in their local haunts, Safe Hands & Gatherer are setting out to make this one to remember."
