The Bronx don’t take their responsibility to deliver unforgettable nights to Australian audiences lightly. In anticipation of their arrival this June, the five-piece from Los Angeles have announced which quality local acts they will be sharing the stage with.
High Tension are lending their brutal stage show to almost all dates (excluding Brisbane’s June 16 show) and local legends Army Of Champions will accompany on the Crowbar stage on Monday night. After delivering their debut album on June 6 Freak Wave will warm the recently SOLD OUT 170 Russell room with max riffage in Melbourne and purveyors of punk rock good times, Born Lion will whip up a frenzy on the tour’s final stop in Sydney.
Brandishing their ability to kill it, to slay it, to turn it up like absolutely no other rock'n'roll band on the face of the planet is capable of doing, The Bronx have taken brutal party music to a new level, and honed it over four albums into something utterly irresistible. The release of the anticipated, huge fourth album from The Bronx (IV) was greeted with ecstasy in 2013, AV Club pointing out: "The Bronx has turned rage and desperation into a perpetual state of being—and (IV) into a monument not just of survival, but also evolution."
Let's not forget that The Bronx are possibly the only rock'n'roll band in the world that can morph at will into a fully kitted out, very capable and entertaining Mariachi band alter-ego: Mariachi El Bronx. The Bronx have triumphed over the Big Day Out, and Groovin' The Moo festival's, and ensnared new devotees every step of the way with their visceral, soul-shakin' live shows. This time around The Bronx will be inciting riots in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, and crossing the Bass Strait for a very special Hobart headlining performance, as part of MONA's expertly curated and highly anticipated DARK MOFO Festival program.
