San Francisco’s Alcatraz joins the Arrest Records Australia roster; set to release “Smile Now Cry Later”. Available from Friday 11th of November.
The San Francisco Bay Area has produced many great bands over the years and this band Alcatraz is another. Alcatraz have been around since 2005 now with a previous EP on Rock Vegas Records and 7” Split with Final Prayer on Demons Run Amok Records, but was always a side project for most of the members who were in the popular hardcore band First Blood. In October 2010 that all changed as members left First Blood to pursue this side project and make it their main focus. In 2011, Arrest Records Australia is proud to have the Australian release for this new CD that contains 14 brand new tracks plus 6 songs off their out-of-press debut release.
Alcatraz’s members are proud of the city they call home and are not afraid to tell you how it is. There is no grey area in this release just the cold hard truth of reality. Unlike First Blood there is more a personal approach to the songs without losing the hard edge of their previous releases. These members have done the hard yards in bands including Embrace The End, First Blood, Maya Over Eyes and Set Your Goals to name a few, but many miles on the road has only instilled their love of hardcore and the life they live each day.
With the release there are plans to tour the USA, Europe, Japan and Australia in 2012.
