Now in it’s 6th year, Poison City's annual Weekender Fest is back again for 2014! Part music festival, part punk-rock family reunion, the 3 day event converges on Melbourne each year to celebrate the friendships and musical bonds that continue to spawn and evolve from Poison City’s thriving music community. This year Weekender Fest hits the Corner Hotel on Friday August 22nd, the Public Bar and John Curtin Hotel on Saturday August 23rd and wraps up with a monster afternoon/evening show at The Reverence Hotel on Sunday August 24th.
Headlining the 2014 festivities is beloved 90's Californian indie/punk act Knapsack, hitting our shores for the very first time! Featuring members of The Jealous Sound and Samiam, Knapsack delivered a slew of instant-classic albums through the 90's, touring with acts like Pavement, Jawbox and Drive Like Jehu, growing up alongside bands like Jimmy Eat World and The Get Up Kids. Their 2013 reunion at Florida's seminal 'The Fest' was greeted with tons of praise and much excitement. Knapsack will be joined by very special international guests, Michigan’s Pity Sex, who'll be making their first, eagerly awaited visit down under.
The 2014 line-up also features Melbourne party-starters The Bennies, Tassie punks Luca Brasi, plus Harmony, Wil Wagner, Lincoln Le Fevre, Paper Arms, Clowns, Infinite Void, Hoodlum Shouts, High Tension, Tape/Off, Ceres, Roku Music, Fear Like Us, Freak Wave, Toy Boats and tons more. Full line-ups for each venue will be announced in coming days and tickets go on sale Thursday April 17th from Corner Hotel Box Office/ Online & Poison City Store/ E-Store. Once again there will be a limited Early Bird allocation of 3-Day Weekender Passes, giving access to all shows at a discounted rate.
