European Tour Journal - Entry 6

The tour has finished and this is the final entry about our European tour. The last three shows were in Italy, with the last show being in Milan and the next day we all went our seperate ways for our individual travels. Tom first departed by train to Berlin, Sean, Dave & Jesse flew out to London and I got dropped off in Venice which is where I am writing this from.

The final three shows in Italy were amazing. We met some really great people in Lodi, we played to about 200+ people at STRANGE FEAR’s CD Launch in Modena and we finished off the tour with our great new friends FAIR DO’s and 50/50 in Milan. Two of the shows in Italy were organised by Nick from a great band called THE MEMORY. We never would have got out of a tight situation if it wasn’t for him. Also make sure you check out STRANGE FEAR, for fans of fast, heavy hardcore.

In total we played 21 shows over 30 days, drove about 7000km and made some friends that will last a life time. We played shows to 30 people, we played shows to 300 people. We played in bars, clubs, studios, abandoned buildings, cellars, squats and youth centers. We slept in the houses/apartments of very nice people, with local families, in venues, in hostels, on the hardest of floors, coldest of rooms, studio in the middle of nowhere, squats and in the van. We visited one million petrol stations. We ate like kings and we went days on end without food. All in all we had one amazing time.

It was hard finishing the tour and saying goodbye as we have got so used to being on the road, living with each other and spending every moment together. Especially saying goodbye to certain people a long the way and never knowing if we will see them again.

On this tour we experienced massive high’s and the lowest low’s and at the end of the day, no matter what the feeling was, it was all worth it. The tour nearly fell to pieces because of our original tour promoter, however from all the help of the lovely people of Europe we were able to make this tour work.

We are happy to say that we are going to try our absolute hardest to get back to Europe in the next year or so. We have already had promoters offer to book us tours so we hope we get to have this experience again. If there are any promoters or record labels that are interested in helping us out, please contact me, Matt (Footy) - This email address is being protected from spambots.
