LUCA BRASI ANNOUNCE SUPPORTS FOR BY A THREAD NATIONAL TOUR
Tasmania’s Luca Brasi have revealed further details of their upcoming album launch tour dates. The quartet have handpicked a killer selection of friends and peers to join them on their lap of the country, including The Bennies, Apart From This, The Gifthorse, Grim Fandango and Ceres. In addition, the four-piece have added show in WA (including Drug Aware’s Hyperfest) as well as an exciting O-Week show at Hobart’s Uni Bar with Brisbane’s Violent Soho.
The tour comes right in time for the release of much-anticipated second album By A Thread, which is due to hit shelves on March 14, courtesy of much-loved independent Poison City Records. Three years in the making, By A Thread pushes Luca Brasi into more dynamic territory. Eleven songs of intelligent construction with an eye for quality and considered production, delivered with all the warmth you would expect from an album recorded in the company of friends, at home in Tassie.
Formed in 2009, Luca Brasi’s melodic, hard-hitting and precise punk rock did not take long to translate to the mainland. The band cut their teeth playing lounge rooms floors and filthy pubs with noisy, heart-swelling passion. The sound of their Extended Family debut resonated strongly; scoring the band a spot in Triple J’s Short Fast Loud midyear report and legions of admirers the nation over. 2013’s follow up, the aptly named 7” release 'Tassie' further developed this sound and gained more ground, Kill Your Stereo proclaiming; “Luca Brasi are doing some serious good for Australian punk music at the moment.”
