Sadly Melbourne based record label, Midnight Funeral has announced it will be wrapping up as a business at the end of the year. The label has delivered a slew of releases from the likes of I Exist, Milhouse, Outsiders Code, Hazards, as well as delivering vinyl pressing to classic releases from MYC, Mindsnare, Blueline Medic, Hit List & Pro Team.
Below is a message from Craigos...
Bonjour Y'all!
I have some news to share with all of you: As of the end of 2013, I will be finishing up Midnight Funeral Music.
I have had some great times running this label, and I had planned ot hit 50 releases, and I am almost there, but I have reached a point where it is becoming less and less enjoyable for me, and I would rather walk away from this still loving all I have done (I have pressed over 11,000 pieces of vinyl in 4 years) and still being proud of what I have done.
What this means is that I wll be tying up my loose ends, finishing up all planned releases (some long overdue!) and trying to get rid of some stock so that my study isn't a graveyard of my label. So, for the rest of this week, I have some of my earlier releases at prices that are just silly!
So go and check out what's here: http://midnightfuneral.limitedrun.com/
Pick up some stuff, pre-order a record that's available and help me pay off a bunch of debts and clear out my study hahaha.
Having said all of that, I will continue with the Preservation Society, just at a very reduced capacity, and will look to do 1-2 reiusses/discographies per year. I still think there is stuff that needs to be heard.
Thank you to everyone who ever picked up a record, to the bands that let me work with them, and thank you to the shops that stocked my records!
I will finish up with a quote, one I try my best to live by every day: "As it is. So be it" - Robert DeGrimston
Cheers,
Craigos.
Midnight Funeral Music.
If you haven't done so yet be sure to pick yourself up a copy of the new 7 inch from HAZARDS off Midnight Funeral.
