Daimian Moyal Returns With ON BODIES
The voice behind such bands as As Friends Rust, Morning Again, Culture and even a stint in Shai Hulud returns to the fold with latest project ON BODIES. Retaining a similiar vocal style to last band As Friends Rust but with perhaps a harder egde, On Bodies is definitely worth checking out. More details below..
If you’re familiar with (and a fan of) the South Florida Hardcore scene of yesteryear and today, you’ll be extremely impressed and pleased with ON BODIES. The band boasts a ridiculous pedigree of: Rich Thurston (founding member of Culture, also played in Terror and Blood Has Been Shed); Damian Moyal (currently fronting As Friends Rust, formerly of Culture, Morning Again, Bird Of Ill Omen and Shai Hulud); Richard “Chip” Walbert (Destro, Dance Floor Justice, Where Fear And Weapons Meet, and Until The End); Julio Marin (Destro, Glasseater); and Chad Kishick (Dead Weight, Know The Score).
With the debut EP ‘Planet Hospice’, ON BODIES arrives with a unique and desperate brand of insight and rage. Deeply focused on feelings of futility in a world that seems to promise more than it provides, ‘Planet Hospice’ is the first glimpse of a startling, powerful output by some of the hardcore community’s most seasoned veterans
While so much of today’s heavy music tends to force a brutality that is more style than substance and more technique than torment, ON BODIES explores the forgotten tenets of raw, questioning hardcore.
For a sample of one the songs off the EP, “We Must”, head on over to the band’s Facebook page.
In other Daimian Moyal news, expect a CULTURE discography release in 2012 on American Enemy Inc and As Friends Rust are back together again too, writing and demoing new material even. Check out their facebook page for more info and a song they never recorded below..
