Black Flag have released a brand new song titled "Down In The Dirt" which you can download for free here if you are over 13 years of age.
This new reincarnated lineup of Black Flag features Greg Ginn on guitar and Ron Reyes on vocals credited as Chavo Pendergast on the "Jealous Again" EP. Rounding out the lineup is Dave Klein from Screeching Weasel on bass and Gregory Amore from Gone on drums.
This new song is a sample of what to expect from a forthcoming 22 song LP on the SST label owned by Ginn.
The band also took a shot at the Keith Morris fronted Flag doing the rounds when they announced the news on their website...
"SST Records is proud to announce a free download of the first new BLACK FLAG song in many years. On the upcoming 22 song LP to be released this summer, “Down in the Dirt” features Ron Reyes on vocals, Greg Ginn on guitar/theramin, My War bassist Dale Nixon on bass, and Gregory AMoore on drums. This is not the first time Flag has been attacked by Black Flag with manger and pro skater Mike Vallely (who is the frontman of Good For You, another Greg Ginn project) recently telling Rolling Stone that:
"Keith and all the ex-band members through the years have been wanting to do Black Flag again, but they've been wanting to do it on their terms," Vallely tells Rolling Stone. "They see a shitload of money sitting there and they want it, and they want Greg to open the gates and give them the keys and let their Century City machine come in and run the show, and have Greg be their guitar player. But that's not what fucking Black Flag is about, man."
Black Flag are set to play their first comeback show on May 14th in Luxemburg. Full tour dates are below.
