Formed in October 1981 in Grantham, England the English Dogs produced two demos during 1982 - 'Show No Mercy' and 'Free To Kill'. The band then toured Germany supporting friends GBH during early 1983 and followed this with a British tour supporting Discharge. this was followed by signing to Clay records who released the 6 track ep titled 'Mad Punx and English Dogs' in July 1983. The first full length album, 'Invasion of the Porky Men', was released in 1984...
After four more releases (84-87) during their 'Crossover' era, the English Dogs reformed in 1993 with original vocalist Wakey and signed to the German label "Impact Records" and released 'Bow To None'.
Since reforming again in 2007, the English Dogs have released 'Tales from the Asylum' (2008), 'Get Off My Fucking Moon' (2011) and the 'Dog Sick' split with Sick On The Bus.
English Dogs are currently working on another split EP, this time with Australia's own Bastard Squad. This EP will be a limited pressing and will be sold at the venues during the tour, along with a wide range of other English Dogs merchandise.
This could possibly be a ‘one off’ opportunity to witness a performance of one of the finest UK82 punk/crossover bands on Australian soil. From their first EP, English Dogs really stood out as being an innovative band. Far from the punk rock three chord cliché, the English Dogs were able to deliver powerful anthems which possessed talented metal style riffing, booming/snarling vocals and impressive arrangements.
Australia has been fortunate enough to have other bands from the UK82 genre tour, such as: The Exploited, GBH, The Addicts, The Varukers and The Defects. Now let’s bring on the English Dogs.
