The second release from Rest Assured Records will be the debut 7 inch, “Lap Year” from Byron Bay’s POSTBLUE. Harking back to the glory years of the mid 90s emo movement, POSTBLUE sound like a hybrid of Texas Is The Reason and By A Thread mixed with the modern day styling of bands like Basement and Title Fight. These five songs have an immediate infectiousness to them, with the decision to press this record, done so, after just the first ever listen of the band.

Heavily influenced by a diverse range of sounds from Dinosaur Jr and Daylight to Sunny Day Real Estate and Nirvana, it’s hard to believe POSTBLUE have only been a band since February of this year. In that short amount of time they have already solidified a strong hometown presence, sharing the stage with touring bands, Basement (UK) and the Swellers (USA). POSTBLUE have also made numerous trips north to Brisbane, playing alongside Paper Arms, Headaches and Army Of Champions and will be touring the East Coast in January with Newcastle band, Distance.

This 7 inch will be limited to a press of 300 records in multi-coloured vinyl, making each one a soon to be collector’s item. You can stream the entire “Lap Year” EP through the Rest Assured Records soundcloud page now or you can listen below. Pre orders will begin next week on December 21st
