Today skateboarding is omnipresent. Take a walk down any street in any town, and you are destined to see someone riding a skateboard. Well, it wasn't always like that. In the early '80s, popular skateboarder Stacy Peralta brought a profoundly talented group of outsiders together. Tony Hawk, Rodney Mullen, Steve Caballero, Lance Mountain, Tommy Guerrero and Mike McGill became the most competitively dominant skateboard team in history - called the Bones Brigade.

Unmotivated by fame or popularity, but through passion, drive and creativity, they completely dedicated their lives to a disrespected art form.
The core unit of the Bones Brigade built an empire that covered the world. They dominated contests, made hundreds of thousands of dollars, created the modern skateboard video, reinvented endemic advertising, pushed skate progression into a new era, and through a surprising sense of teamwork, they revitalized the sport and influenced generations to come. There's nothing comparable in today's skateboarding.

This documentary chronicles their epic rise, using awesome archival footage and moving first-person accounts from all six core Brigade members and many others. Skateboarder turned filmmaker Stacy Peralta (Dogtown and Z-Boys) has an uncanny knack for fusing style and substance in his films. Bones Brigade will blow the minds of anyone who grew up standing sideways, but it also resonates for anyone who ever found a family or a purpose in an unexpected place.
