Shai Hulud will be performing September 16th in Miami, Florida at Churchill’s Pub as part of the Reel & Restless Fest with former frontman Chad Gilbert (also of New Found Glory) on vocals. Gilbert, who sang on the band’s debut album Hearts Once Nourished With Hope And Compassion, was originally announced to be joining the band for their appearance at the Revelation Records 25th Anniversary shows in California this past June. Gilbert was unavailable to do the shows due to a scheduling clash with NFG. In his place, the band recruited Chadwick Johnson of the band Hundredth to handle vocal duties at the anniversary shows as the band is/was currently wthout a vocalist, which also meant the cancellation of a recent European tour.
The band has been announced as a part of the Soundwave lineup for 2013, but yet no word as too who will front the band. Hulud have also announced they are recording a new album with Chad Gilbert as producer, but as of yet have not announced a singer. Will Gilbert sing for the band again on record?
Also no word yet as to whether or not Gilbert will also join the band for their planned performance on October 13th as part of the New York City installment of shows celebrating Revelation Records’s anniversary shows.
